Piano Marathon

The piano once again takes center stage in the heart of Gijón with its traditional Piano Marathon, a full day of open-air performances that brings music closer to the city and everyone passing by.

Throughout the day, audiences will have the opportunity to discover the young pianists of the Gijón International Piano Festival, who will offer a preview of the rich musical programme that unfolds over the following two weeks. In a dynamic, informal, and accessible format, the participants will present short performances, transforming Paseo de Begoña into an open-air concert venue where audiences can enjoy emerging talent and experience the vibrant spirit of the festival.
