A tribute to Manuel de Falla

In this commemorative year dedicated to Manuel de Falla, the Gijón International Piano Festival pays tribute to one of Spain’s most celebrated composers with a programme that highlights the richness and distinctive character of his musical legacy.

The Gijón International Piano Festival Chamber Orchestra, together with pianist Nabeel Hayek, will perform a specially commissioned chamber arrangement of Nights in the Gardens of Spain, created for this occasion by pianist and conductor Josu de Solaun. This new version offers an intimate and fresh perspective on one of the masterpieces of the Spanish repertoire, preserving the work’s evocative atmosphere and vibrant orchestral colours.

The concert also includes a selection of solo piano works by Liszt, Brahms and Albéniz
